AMMAN: King Abdullah II of Jordan has vowed to wage a callous war against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). The King’s reaction came after the militants burned a captive Jordanian pilot in a cage and released a video of the killing.
After the gruesome killing of Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh the Arab world has united against Islamic State. Jordan executed two Iraqi militants in response to pilot’s death on Wednesday.
Abdullah pledged to hit the militants “hard in the very centre of their strongholds.” Jordanian officials have not presented details of their response, but said they would be working closely with their allies in the anti-IS coalition. Jordan is part of U.S-led military alliance that has been bombing ISIS targets in Syria for nearly five months.
