Scapegoat Patnaik transferred to MSSC, Satyapal Singh to take charge as CP, Mumbai.
Mumbai: Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik became scapegoat and has been transferred to Maharashtra State Security Corporation (MSSC). Patnaik was receiving flak over the August 11 Azad Maidan aggression in Mumbai.
The protest that was organized in solidarity with Assamese and Burmese Muslims by Raza Academy turned violent and resulted in mishap.
The Home Minister of Maharashtra R. R Patil has announced that Patnaik has been promoted as director general and posted as managing director of Maharashtra State Security Corporation (MSSC).
Patil described the transfer as a routine administrative process citing that the transfer file of Patnaik was first moved by the state Director General’s office on July, 06 and the revised file was moved on August 8.
Senior IPS officer Satyapal Singh is taking charge as the new Mumbai commissioner of police.
