Ahmadabad: Minor tremors of earthquake were felt in Kutch and Saurashtra regions of Gujrat. Tremors of 1.7 and 1.8 magnitude were felt in South-west of Surendranagar (that lies in with Kutch district) in Saurashtra region of Gujarat. Bhachua also felt couple of small tremors of earthquake today measuring between 1.3 and 2.0 on the Richter scale. The biggest tremors were felt near Bhachau town of Kutch district of 4.3 magnitudes on Richter scale.
The fourth tremor was of 1.9 magnitude which was felt 16 kilometers away near south-east of Bhuj.
According to officials of ISR, Kutch is a very active seismic zone that has four major active faults that cause earthquakes of 6.0 to 8.0 magnitudes. Kutch Mainland fault, South Wagad fault, Allah bund fault and the Katrol Hill fault are some of the principal faults in the region.
