Pratapgarh: The Kunda DSP Zia-ul-Haq was killed by the mob on Saturday here. The police said, “Haq was chased and thrashed mercilessly and then somebody snatched his pistol and shot him”. The Police booked UP Minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh and his driver on Sunday for Haq’s murder.
With regard to Haq’s murder the fingers were being pointed at UP minister Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiya following which Raja Bhaiya has offered his resignation to the CM Akhilesh yadav.
The Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh Yadav has confirmed the resignation of Bhaiya and accepted it however he said allegations against Raja Bhaiya are false.
The Kunda police registered an FIR against Raja Bhaiya, the local MLA and food and civil supplies minister, under section 120(b) of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint of Haq's wife Parveen Azad.
Azad also accused four associates of the Raja Bhaiya - Gulshan Yadav (chairman, Kunda nagar panchayat), Hari Om Shankar Srivastava (Raja Bhaiya's representative), and Guddu Singh and Rohit Singh (drivers of the minister).
DSP Zia-ul-Haq was shot on Saturday in Balipur village, 75 km west of Pratapgarh district headquarters, while trying to control the violence that had erupted following the killing of gram pradhan Nanhey Yadav and his brother Suresh.
