Sanaullah Ranjay died in Chandigarh after multiple organ failure
CHANDIGARH: Sanaullah Ranjay, Pakistani prisoner died in PGIMER due to severe injuries after he was attacked by jail inmates in Jammu. Sanaullah took his last breath at 6.56 AM today.
Sanaullah died in the morning due to multiple organ failure, we tried hard to revive him, said the doctors at PGIMER. Sanaullah's kidney had failed on Wednesday morning and he was put on dialysis. He was in deep coma since May 3.
KK Sharma, adviser to the Chandigarh administrator, told the media, "We have notified the J&K government about the death of the convict. The body will be flown either to Jammu and Kashmir or Pakistan after talks with the high commission".
The assault came a day after the death of an Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh who was brutally attacked by fellow inmates in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail. Sanuallah, a resident of Sialkot in Pakistan, was serving a life term after he was convicted under TADA provisions following his arrest in 1999.
