Mumbai: Visitors at the Taj Mahal will get a free Wi-Fi internet facility across the extensive campus for 30 minutes after this period the surfing would invite charges at Rs.30 an hour according to officials of Bharatiya Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). Customers can make use of these services from 16 June.
A Bangalore-based company is providing the wireless support. Due to security and other reasons, the Archaeological Survey of India has only permitted the Wi-Fi availability in a radius of 30 metres from the main gate of the Taj Mahal. Millions of domestic and foreign tourists visit the Taj Mahal, built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz.
Tourist’s complaint about lack of Wi-Fi facility. Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) asked the BSNL Company to work and start the facility in the complex. Wi-Fi internet facility is only available at some public and at the Agra Cantonment railway station.
